Cunningham Construction and Development has been serving Nashville and the surrounding areas since 1972. It all began with Daddy Cunningham and he ran it until his son, Marlon, purchased the company in 1995. Marlon built the company from a small loader backhoe and single axle dump truck to the company it is today, having several employees, trackhoes, wheel backhoes, skidsteers and more. Marlon has built several subdivisions in Fairview, some with his brother, Donny, and some on his own.
When the downturn in the economy hit in 2008, the sale of new homes dried up but Marlon was able to continue working due to the work ethic that has become the hallmark of this family business.
In the floods of 2010 Marlon was quick to go to the rescue of the City of Nashville with his equipment and employees, working for several days to clear roads and rebuild several of the hillsides that had slid during the torrential rains. Having escaped the worst of the disaster at their home, they had the time and equipment to jump right in and begin the long process of rebuilding the surrounding areas that had been devastated.
Marlon and Gina have built this company from its humble beginnings to the size it is today with strong work ethics, honest business practices and loyal employees that care about the customer first. This has become the foundation of their success and will continue to be the driving force behind all business decisions.
